This Data Usage Policy provides specific details on how user-generated and platform-integrated content from Meta (Instagram) and Google is processed and utilized within Replay.
A. Instagram Reels & Media
We fetch the metadata (captions, thumbnails, URLs) of Reels you save on Instagram. We do not store the actual video files on our servers; we store references to the media hosted by Meta.
B. Direct Messages (DMs)
Replay only processes DMs containing links or text content that you explicitly choose to save or index within the app. We use the official Instagram Messaging API to facilitate this.
C. App Activity & Diagnostics
We track anonymous behavioral data such as most-used categories, search frequency, and app performance metrics (crash logs). This data is used exclusively to improve Replay's user interface and stability.
Our core functionality relies on processing text data through Artificial Intelligence models. This includes:
The AI processing is ephemeral and used solely to generate the metadata needed for organization. Your data is not used to train global AI models without your explicit consent.
All user metadata is stored in Supabase and is subject to enterprise-grade security standards. Data transmission is encrypted via SSL/TLS. Access is restricted to authenticated users only.
Replay adheres to the principle of data minimization. We only request permissions and collect data strictly necessary to provide the features you have signed up for. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party marketers.
You can revoke our access to your Instagram data at any time via your account settings on those platforms or within the Replay app settings. Revoking access will immediately disable the corresponding integrations.
